“Very large important changes begin when a few friends start talking."
- Margaret Wheatley.
That is how The Woman’s Edge began, then Syncresse and now the launch of our blog. We welcome all of you, who share our passion and excitement for the role that women and their leadership play in our lives, our communities and organizations, to our conversation. Join us and listen, learn and share. Imagine what we can do together!
I was fortunate to attend an evening with Margaret Wheatley last Tuesday night in Vancouver BC, one of her stops on her Woman’s Leadership Revival Tour. It was an evening packed with valuable and profound insights. I walked away with this ringing in my ears…Start anywhere! Follow it everywhere!
Her method for effecting the change we want to see?
1) Notice what you care about
2) Get Started
3) Learn as you go
4) Stay together. Pay attention to our relationships.
I can’t think of a better way to invite you to be part of the change we want to make in the world. What do you care about?
Start with us. Let’s learn as we go. And create a community of curiosity, action and growth that stays together. May we discover new ways to grow our leadership.
Join our conversation. It will be richer with you.
Warmly
Catherine and Susan

I think the four steps are good advice - we can think, we can talk, but unless we actually DO, we can't make a difference! What else did she have to say? Any trends she's seen re: women leaders?

It was an amazing evening and she did a wonderful job of challenging all of us to really look at what we are doing. What do we care about and are we living the lives we want. More than that are we making the difference that is ours to make.
How do we do that? Notice what calls to us. Notice what gives us energy. Imagine an image of a whale broaching. Thousands of pounds of blubber flying magnificently through the air. Her call to us all is to "FOLLOW THE ENERGY OF YES!"
Look around you. Find an example of some difference that was made because someone just started and tookt the first step. Ask yourself...what would have happened if she had not stepped into the energy of YES!
